Sermon of the Week
Monday, September 24 2018

Assumicide can be serious stuff…. Folks have died from it…. They assumed the gun wasn’t loaded…. They assumed the approaching car was going to stay on it’s side of the road…. They assumed they could drink and drive…. They assumed they could get across the railroad crossing before the train….They assumed the ice was thick enough to cross the lake….well, you get the idea…

Scripture tells us that assumption is self-desception….

James 1:22-24 (NIV bible) “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. But do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he saw”. Assumiside is willful ignorance of the fact….

We all deal with assumicide in some way or form….. a carpet-layer had just finished installing a new carpet. As he stepped back to survey his work, he reached into his shirt pocket for a cigarette, but the pack wasn’t in his pocket. Just then he noticed a lump under the carpet in the middle of the room, about the size of the missing cigarette pack. He isn’t about to rip up the carpet to get the cigarette pack out from under the finished carpet, so he took his hammer and beat the object flat and Bingo, no one would ever know. He put his tools in the truck and got in to go when he noticed his cigarettes on the truck seat. About that time the owner of the house came out and asked if the man had seen his son’s pet hamster……

Sometimes to correct false assumptions, we have to rip everything up and start over with God’s revealed truth. Assuming can cause you to mis-identify yourself in Christ….and be confused about your calling and mission…You can listen to the wrong voices and come to the wrong conclusions…..

Assumicide is what happens when you make assumptions without checking a reliable source or getting all the evidence or information needed before making important decisions. What we assume to be true, we act on. But when what we assume to be true turns out to be false, we end up with wrong conclusions. And wrong conclusions can lead to the wrong actions in life. It’s what happens when we go by what we feel, think or conclude at the moment without checking everything out by the word of God…..Many people do not realize that the reason they are failing to grow and mature as Christians is that they are assuming too much and failing to apply the basic principles and values of God’s kingdom to their lives.

A pastor ran inside the grocery store one day to pick up a couple of things he needed – he was in a big hurry because he was running behind as he tried to get to his next appointment.

He quickly went through the checkout counter – paid for his stuff – grabbed the receipt and change and out the door he went. As he was getting into his car, stuffing the change into his wallet, he noticed that the checkout girl had given him too much change. “Oh man!”, he thought – “What should I do? I’m already behind schedule – I’ve got someone waiting to meet with me!”

He could do one of three things – he could go back in right then, delaying his plans even further – and make things right. He could go on to his appointment and come back later and make them right. Or, he could just forget about it and go on about his business - people made mistakes like that all the time, right?

Well, he decided he ought to go in and get it corrected right away. He walked up to the same checkout stand he had been in just a few minutes before – and as he approached the checkout girl he said, “I’m sorry – but it looks like you may have given me too much change by accident.”

With tears in her eyes, the checkout girl looked up at him and said, “No sir, I did it on purpose. You see, I came to your Church Sunday and sat on the back row. You preached about honesty and how important it is to be honest as a Christian. I gave you too much change today, so I could see if you really lived what you were saying to us.” (She judged the pastor based on previous experiences and disappointments) Folks deserve the benefit of the doubt until they show themselves undeserving.

We've all been guilty of drawing wrong conclusions on the basis of tiny scraps of evidence…. In Jesus’ time, they assumed that he was illegitimate, since Mary and Joseph weren’t married…. Joseph assumed that Mary had been unfaithful to him, since he knew Jesus couldn’t be his son…. The people assumed that Jesus was just a man (I mean how could He possibly be God)…. The disciples assumed that Jesus would overthrow the Roman empire and make himself king…. The disciples assumed that He was dead and all that they had hoped for was for nothing…. (on and on it goes)

Here’s a shocking scripture….“Whoever has, will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he does not have will be taken from him."” (Mark 4:25 NIV) that tells me this…. What was intended for you to receive, if you do nothing to put yourself in a position to receive it, will be given to another, until you are mature enough or kingdom minded enough to have it….. God is waiting to see what you will do with what you have so He can give you what you want…..

A big assumicide in our society today, is to assume that someone else will do it…. In an earlier century, there was a large boulder in the middle of the roadway. Traveler after traveler walked past the boulder, veering off the side of the road to get around it. While, shaking their head and muttering, that someone should get that big thing out of the way as they went on their merry way. Others went around it and thought that some day, they would do something about it. (but someday is not a day of the week)

Finally, a man came along and, seeing the boulder, used a branch from a tree as a lever and pried the boulder loose and rolled it off to the side of the road. Lying underneath the rock, he found a small bag with a note. The man picked up the note and read it. It said, "Thank you for being a true servant of the kingdom. Many have passed this way and complained because of the state of the problem and spoken of what ought to be done. But you have taken the responsibility upon yourself to serve the kingdom instead. You are the type of citizen we need more of in this kingdom. As the king, I want you to accept this bag of gold that traveler after traveler haswalked by simply because they didn’t care enough about the kingdom to serve. And I want you to bring this note to the palace, where I am looking for a trustworthy personal attendant." Don’t wait for someone else to serve, there are hidden blessings in every act of service….

Assumptions try to put square pegs in round holes…..Adam and Eve missed out on huge blessings when they assumed the serpent was capable of the truth, when he told them God was holding out on them…. David assumed that because he was king, he was above the law…. Samson assumed that because God blessed him as Israel’s deliverer, he would be blessed no matter what he did…..Lot assumed that he could be part of Sodom and Gomorrah’s social order without the judgment of God…. The religious leaders of Jesus’ day, assumed they could make the rules instead of teaching the values and culture of the kingdom of God, so they began to condemn instead of liberating.

In some cases, we can laugh at the outcome of false assumptions. When we went to Virginia Beach, Virginia to be with Karen at the time Jesse was born, we enjoyed our time at the beach, but one day, I was asked to go to the store and get some diapers. I went in and asked the curtesy counter, where the diapers were located. She told me the isle number and when I got there, I found the isle contained adult diapers. She had assumed that because I didn’t have a child with me, I wanted them for myself….

Most of us are living with some false assumptions. Our parents, our teachers, our culture, the media, all have input into our lives. And some of those inputs are false assumptions.

Often we have assumicide when we assume that others have the same opportunities and privileges we have received. Such as a supportive family, a fairly safe environment to grow up in, good food to eat, and someone to care deeply about us….

A Puerto Rican woman went to church and was led to Christ. After her conversion she came to the Pastor and said, "I want to do something to help here at the church." He asked her what her talents were and she could think of nothing---she couldn’t even speak English---but she did love children. So he put her on one of the church’s vans that went into neighborhoods and brought kids to church. Every week she was excited to be part of bringing the children to church. She would find the saddest -looking kid on the bus, put him on her lap and whisper over and over the only words she had learned in English: "I love you and Jesus loves you." After several months, she became attached to one little boy in particular. The boy didn’t speak. He came to church every week with his sister and sat on the woman’s lap, but he never made a sound. Each week she would tell him all the way to Sunday School and all the way home, "I love you and Jesus loves you."

One day, to her amazement, the little boy turned around and stammered, "I---I---I love you too!" Then he put his arms around her and gave her a big hug. That happened at 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon. At 6:30 that night he was found dead. His own mother had beaten him to death and thrown his body in the trash......."I love you and Jesus loves you." ....Those were some of the last words this little boy heard in his short life---from the lips of a Puerto Rican woman who could barely speak English. This woman gave what she had to God and because of that a little boy who never heard the word "love" in his own home, experienced and responded to the love of Christ, flowing through this lady.....

Don’t assume that someone else is better qualified to minister to children, Don’t assume that someone else has more time to set up the chairs, mop the floor, make the coffee and have everything ready for Church…. Don’t assume that someone else will bring folks that can’t get here on their own…. Don’t assume that…..(and we could go on….) If everyone brought someone in their car next week, we would double the size of the church in one week…. If everyone brought 2 people, we would triple in a week! And that person you bring , might be a missionary, a pastor, or an evangelist who was scheduled by God for a defining, transformative moment in their life…. To you it is just a church service, but to them it is an Epiphany …. I have seen it too many times to ever doubt it!

If you are the victim of assumicide, it's very hard to fight back against false assumptions. Few things hurt more than being misunderstood by our close friends. The closer they are to us, the greater the pain. When that happens we discover a lot about ourselves. We discover that how we respond when we've been misunderstood says a lot about the depth of our Christian faith and our character. The danger is that we can start believing the false assumptions people have about us….

Psalms 34:19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers them out of them all. v22 The LORD redeems the soul of His servants: and none of those who trust in Him shall never be desolate (aw-shawm, lacking a covering or an intercessor).

In the book of Job, Satan made a huge assumption and says to God, "The only reason Job is worshipping you is because you’ve blessed his life with wisdom, wealth, health and family. Take away the blessings and watch Job curse You."

And God replied, "Go ahead, take away the blessings, and you’ll see that Job will not curse Me."

By chapter 3, Job’s children had all died. Poverty replaced Job’s wealth. A terrible disease robbed Job of his health.                      Self-pity began to impose itself and insert itself into Job’s wisdom. Death became a welcomed friend.

In chapters 4 and 5, Job’s friend, Eliphaz, speaks out. But instead of comforting Job, Eliphaz condemns Job for not applying his own teaching about endure suffering, and Eliphaz begins to try to correct something he didn’t understand.

Job responds with angry words in chapters 6 and 7. He points out that Eliphaz simply hasn’t understood the magnitude of suffering he is under. Instead of complaining, Job defends God!

And in chapter 8, one by one, the three friends respond to Job’s words. Bildad the Babbler speaks out.

(With a comforter like Bildad, you don’t need any enemies). Bildad assumed Job needed correction rather than comfort and he assumed his task was to set Job straight. His friends assumed that they knew all that was happening to Job. They assumed that people always get what they deserve. They assumed Job’s situation would improve if Job only trusted in God. But we know from chapters 1 and 2 that Job did trust God, and yet things got worse before they got better.

It is these kinds of assumptions that leave folks confused and disillusioned. Some even turn away from God or say, "There is no God. Some even say, "God doesn’t hear me, or God just doesn’t care”.

What do you do when the good person goes unrewarded and the bad person goes unpunished.

What do you do when the person who cheats in your class may get an "A", and the honest hard working student in your class may get gets an "C or a D”…. What do you do when the person who takes other people’s credit at work gets the promotion and the one who faithfully works in the company may get no recognition at all.

Many Christians have assumicide and they believe when illness, suffering and loss occur in our lives, that we have done something to cause God to abandon us. Some even go as far as doubting that they are Christians.

(the bible says, He will never leave us or forsake us, but will be with us until the end of the world)… That means He never quits on us or gives up on us… EVER!!!

I want you to think about something, for every non-Christian who suffers from cancer, a Christian suffers from cancer, so that the world can see the difference. For every non-Christian who is laid off from work, a Christian is laid off from work, so that the world can see the difference. For every non-Christian who has a bad day, a Christian has a bad day, so the world can see the difference Jesus Christ makes in our lives. The truth is these things happen because God is setting up the Devil for defeat… The Lord is merciful and gracious, and He knows how to work in each person’s life to bring about the best results for each one concerned….Onesize does not fit all when it comes to our walk with God! But the way we respond to trials, tribulations and persecution, will prove that greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world!! He knows how to turn every trial into a triumph and every test into a testimony!!!

A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot and realize how really blessed you are….

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance”.

Charles Swindoll lists what he calls the "four spiritual flaws":                                                                                                                                                                                                        Flaw #1: Because you are a Christian, all your problems are solved. (Please don’t tell any non-Christian this.) All they have to do is watch your life and it will blow that one!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Flaw # 2: All the problems you will ever have are addressed in the Bible. (If that were true, why would we need Holy Spirit to lead us and reveal what is the right and the best path.)                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Flaw #3: If you are having problems, you are unspiritual. (The truth is that there is a cost for serving Christ, but there is a greater price for not serving Him.)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Flaw #4: Being exposed to sound Bible teaching will solve your problems. (Hearing Bible teaching is only effective when there is obedience to what the Bible teaches.)

When the 1960s ended and many hippies moved down the coast to Santa Cruz. They got married and had children or had children and got married… But they didn't name their children Bobbie or Carol or Tom. People became accustomed to their children playing with Spring Fever and Moonbeam, Precious Promise and Meadow.                                                                            They all ended up in public school. That's when the kindergarten teachers first met Fruit Stand. Every fall, as school begins, parents apply name tags to their children, kiss them good-bye and send them off to school on the bus. And it was true for Fruit Stand as well. The teachers thought the boy's name was odd, but they tried to make the best of it.

"Would you like to play with the blocks, Fruit Stand?" they offered. And later, "Fruit Stand, how about a snack?" He accepted hesitantly without answering. By the end of the day, his name didn't seem much more odd than Sun Ray or Morning Thistle. At dismissal time, the teachers led the children out to the buses. "Fruit Stand, do you know which one is your bus?" He didn't answer. But after all he hadn't answered them all day. Lots of children are shy on the first day of school. It didn't matter. The teachers had instructed the parents to write the names of their children's bus stop on the reverse side of their name tags. The teacher simply turned over the tag. There, printed neatly, was the name "Anthony." So they dropped him at the Fruit Stand! (they assumed something without all the facts…)

Who are you anyway? No matter what the world calls you, no matter what you even think of yourself. Don’t assume they and you, know better than the God who made you and the Lord who redeemed you.

As a believer, He calls you a Masterpiece, a Treasure, His friend, a new Creation, The dwelling place of God, a work of art, forgiven, His likeness and image, Eternally alive, a citizen of Heaven, A partaker of the glory, righteous, a diamond in His crown, A vessel of honor, Accepted in the beloved, the Apple of His eye, Blessed of the LORD, Called, and chosen, the Elect of God, He that dwells in the secret place, Overcomer, the Heir of God, Kings and priests, His anointed, Pilgrims, the Peacemakers, The Redeemed, the Healed, The Children of God….

Most folks, including the disciples would not have chosen Paul as an apostle, I mean after all, he was killing Christians…. They would have assumed that Jesus never would have called the fishermen, tax collector, and revolutionist that he chose  to spread the kingdom message throughout the earth…..and the same apostles would have assumed they could never be used by God in the way they were used….But amazingly, He chose you and me!!! It is those who have seen and experienced the depths of Satan’s lies that God chooses to bring down the serpent’s kingdom!

Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto Me, and I will answer you, and shew yougreat and mighty things, which you could not even imagine”! (What we call Him, and how we know Him, determines a lot about how we see ourselves…..

All kinds of factors influence our lives, but WE are still in charge of HOW we allow them to affect us and WHAT we allow to affect us! We can say yes, or we can say no. I pray that we will have the strength to answer His higher call. Isaiah answered the call and said…. “Here am I Lord, send me”…..

I do not Come to God, because He’s my last resort, but I come because I have the privilege to enter His presence…

I do not come to remind Him of my righteous, but simply to declare that I desire to love and follow Him….

I do not come because I am strong, but I come because I am weak and need a strength and power beyond myself….

I do not come because I have some special claim on God’s blessings and rewards, but I come because in my frailty and brokenness I need His mercy and His Grace…. I do not come to express my opinions, but I come to enjoy the wonder of His presence and to pray for a fresh infilling of His Spirit.

Just Lift your hands to Him, and all you need to say is “Here am I Lord, Take me, Prepare me, Use me, Send me”…..                                                                                                                                                            Just let Him move into your situation and circumstances right now today…. He will do what no other power can do… Let Him fix it for you… He knows the answer, before you ask the question, but He’s waiting for you to ask…. Knock and it shall be opened, seek and you shall find, ask and you will be given….His ways and His timing are perfect….He will make a way where there is no way and He will connect you, prepare you, and establish you…..

Romans 8:31  What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?  v32 He that spared not , his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things"?

We said that an heir only needs to be born to qualify as an heir. We only need to be born again and we qualify!

We are called heirs, not beggars…. Listen, Jesus did not give us the status of First born, to make us beggars… That is not our birthright….(to be beggars)  To hear some folks praying and pleading and begging, you would think that instead of “Heirs”… that they are “Beggars”… Please hear me…. Intercession is not begging…. Intercession is placing yourself in a position of representing God’s intentions on behalf of others. It is the role of the priesthood of believers. “One who stands before God in behalf of another”… When you’re in court and you “Plead” your case, it actually means to “Present” your case… it’s not begging….

It’s the wording that is used in…. Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need”.

1John 5:15 “And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him”. There’s a scripture that let’s us know that we can have that kind of confidence….                                                        Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto Me, and I will answer you, and shew you great and mighty things, which you can’t even imagine”.

Another function of the priesthood is to be a “Proxy” Thatmeans you actually represent someone else as though they were there. Jesus died in our place, He took our place, and now he calls upon the priesthood to put themselves in the place of another. I’ve heard of intercessors who were impressed to answer an altar call for a wayward child, and stand before God as though it was their child standing there…. Then to see them come to Christ when they were never open before…. When Jesus told us to pray “in earth as it is in heaven”…. That’s proxy…. You’re standing in heavenly places in proxy of someone or of a group.. I know friends who stood for healing, they didn’t stand for themselves but in place of someone else as though it was the person standing there!

Scripture calls it “Standing in the Gap”….                                                                                                                                   That’s what it means when we read in Ephesians 2:6 “And He has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” We operate out of heavenly places to bring heaven’s rule into the earth…..Sitting indicates a place of rest and acceptance regarding the things of heaven… it indicates that we have settled the issue of kingdom rule and kingdom policies and procedures….Sitting is the position of authority….                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ”. That’s about bringing the blessings that have their source is heaven, into earth….

Ezekiel 22:30 “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none”. Is God calling on you to Stand in the Gap? Some are called upon to stand  for a city, or for a person, and God is asking you and me, are we available?

I said last week that you can have power without authority, but you can’t have authority without the power to back it up. A conqueror may have power, but “More than conqueror” has authority… and that’s what God calls his kids! MORE THAN CONQUEROR…. Satan has power, but his authority is stolen and illegal… He’s no match for God’s Spirit within you. When it comes to healing, you have authority with power…when it comes to supplying your needs, you have authority with power….when it comes to defeating Satan in every area of your life, you have authority with power… It’s not about a feeling you have or don’t have… it’s not about goose bumps….it’s knowing and understanding the principal of the authority which you already have been granted….

When you attempt these things without understanding your authority, you end up doing things in your own power and you end up falling short and getting frustrated and stepping over into doubt and unbelief.                                                                    When the disciples tried to kick the devil out of the boy who was having fits which cast him in the fire… Jesus showed up and used authority to release him, then he turned to the disciples and said “oh ye of little faith”…. Why, because they didn’t understand the authority they had as they acted in Jesus’ behalf and in his name!

Imagine you're speeding down the road, you're pulled over by the police. A polite policeman says, "Would you mind showing me your license and registration, sir?" You say, "No way, Hosea" "Excuse me?" says the cop. Well, You're feeling pretty tough, so you say, "I said no way Hosea." The policeman shows his badge, and repeats, "Your license and registration please, sir." So, you blow him a raspberry. "Okay, out of the car pal," demands the officer. "I don't think so, I like it right here." you say stubbornly. Out comes the gun. He sticks it straight up your right nostril, drags you out of the car, cuffs you, throws you into the squad car, and drives you off to jail. When he showed you his badge, that was a demonstration of authority. When he stuck his revolver in your nose and carted you off to jail, he was demonstrating power - the ability back up that authority.                                                                                                                     Our badge is our birthright as a child of God…. Our pistol is the name of Jesus!!!!

God has already provided His healing, delivering power and placed it on the inside of every born-again believer. It is up to us to release it. Understanding and using our authority is the key to Satan’s defeat and seeing miracles happen.

You need to say it not just think it…..Matthew 18:18 "Whatever YOU say is bound on earth will be bound in heaven - whatever YOU say is loosed on earth will be loosed in heaven". Someone has said if all else fails, try using words!  As the firstborn of God, Your words have power….Use your voice to Subdue opposing spirits, forbid their operation and Decree God’s Word and promises over your….areas of influence, your areas of jurisdiction, the territory God has allotted to the firstborn.

When the disciples finally got a grip on this, some amazing things began to happen, and it changed many lives as they applied this understanding

Acts 3:1-8 “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.”

Cast him down! Bind him! Expose him and Expel him! Flickhim off, Kick him out everywhere you find him! He will never stop trying to take what is rightfully yours! Healing is your birthright… Supernatural supply is your birthright…. Deliverance is your birthright! A Godly home and a Godly legacy is your birthright…. KICK HIM OUT, KICK HIM OUT, KICK HIM OUT….!!!          Don’t settle for his shadow government…. He must be exposed and he must lose, so you can win! You can have all that is yours as the rightful heir, as the first born of God…. Authority is yours, a double portion is yours, the priesthood is yours!

People have made the wrong choice for thousands of years. But all that can stop with each and every one of us.                                    Don’t fall for the sour apple trick …..A farmer wanted to keep kids out of his prize winning apples, so he placed the trees at the center of the orchard and planted sour, bitter apples all around them. No one got past the sour apples to taste the delicious ones. Press beyond the sour and bitter things of life, that want to keep you from the most delicious and amazing blessings God has for you. Don’t let the offences, the hurts, the disappointments, cause you to give up or lose faith…..

The blessings are waiting for you to enjoy….

In Christ we have: A love that can never be fathomed:

A life that can never die:

A righteousness that is not of this world

A peace that can never be understood:

A rest that can never be disturbed:

A joy that can never be diminished:

A hope that can never be disappointed:

A glory that can never be clouded:

A happiness that can never be interrupted:

and Resources that can never be exhausted.

AND ALL OF THAT, has no expiration date!

We get confused between confidence and humility…. We feel that humility demands that people not see us, but only Jesus. But at the same time we know that to get what is needed, we need confidence… The donkey that carried Jesus into Jerusalem wasn’t the main attraction, but they threw garments, and palm branches in front of the donkey. The donkey got the blessing because he was carrying Jesus. Don’t be nervous when you get the blessing for carrying Jesus. Folks will look to you because you are carrying Jesus…. Just keep it all in perspective and move in confidence, while being humble about the blessing, because you know it’s not about you, but it’s about Him.

Just keep passing all the glory and all the honor to him…..

Just keep bringing Jesus…..The mail man doesn’t determine who gets the mail, his job is to just deliver the mail. Take a moment right now, and just lay a hand on someone’s shoulder or take their hand and move in confidence with humility as you bring Jesus into the situation today…..

Measure with the right measurement…..We are going to need to be vigilant, because when we allow ourselves to become complacent and distracted about our two dimensional calling we can begin to make judgments about life, our relationships, and our high calling by using natural measurements for success and achievement… The moment you’re in right now can never be the measure of your success. You are an eternal, forever being and you are greater than any given moment or season in your life….

Your feelings, can be very deceptive, because, if you’re not feeling successful that must mean you’re a failure. Sometimes you have to tell your feeling to take a hike! If it’s about performance, what happens when folks stop applauding or telling you how wonderful you are… No, we live and move and have our being for an audience of one…. And his name is Messiah, Redeemer, Savior, Healer and Eternal Friend.

Here’s a measurement for you….Galatians 4:7 Wherefore you are no more a servant, but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” Sometimes the problem we have is that we continue to see ourselves as servants instead of sons of God and children of the most high. A servant never expects an inheritance. Whatever the master wants to give will do. But a son understands that as the child of the father, by his birth, there are things that are his which the Father has promised, and the father has great pleasure and delight in keeping his word.

Look at Romans 8:16 “The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. v17 And if we are children, (firstborn, because God only has firstborn children), then we are heirs, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ. For it shall be that if we suffer with Him, that we shall also be glorified together with Him”.

It’s much like the electricity in your home. The power company generates the power and delivers it to your house. It’s not your power, but it’s under your control. You don’t call the power company and ask them to turn the lights on. No! They won’t do that. They generate the power, but it’s under your command. You simply flip the switch on the wall and command the power to work. Does this mean you are the power source? No, Certainly not! You can put a light bulb in your mouth, and it will never come on. You aren’t the power source, but you are the one in control of what that power does. You can plead with the power company all you want, but they won’t flip the switch for you. You have to assume your authority and acknowledge the power is under your command… It’s the privilege which belongs to the firstborn!                                                                                                                                                                                       If it was easy, so many would not have done it wrong. But thank God we have amazing examples of those who would not settle and would not trade off on their inheritance!

Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him,for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. v7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. v8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing wherehe went. v9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise. v10 For he looked for a city which had foundations, whose builder and maker is God. v14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country (of promise). v15 And truly, if they had been(fixated on ) that country from which they came out, they might have been tempted to return. v16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly, wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared for them a city (a place of inheritance).                                                                                                                                        Let me repeat what I shared last week, that there are three levels to the blessing….                                                                           In Christ, You have received a double portion of the inheritance, represented in this life and the life to come…                                                                                                                       You have became a person of authority with it’s source in the Spiritual realm which supersedes natural authority….                          You have became part of the spiritual Priesthood, in the fellowship of the Firstborn….

Keep on declaring the Blessing…. in the midst of busy, full lives, as we are taking care of and providing for our families, working at our careers and fulfilling all of our obligations, we must ask ourselves… have we spoken blessings over them, in their presence, in their hearing? If we can so easily bless a perfect stranger that sneezes, then we can bless our family, our friends and our associates ….There’s a battle for our familiesand relationships today….Satan is fully dedicated to winning that battle… Don’t let him win!

Jesus gave us several clear mandates....

Mark 16:15 "Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Luke 19:13 "Occupy till I come" (That’s about rulership)

Matthew 24:42 "Watch therefore: for you do not know what hour your Lord will come". (That’s about vigilance) We are to live as though he’s coming today… So if you knew today was the day… what would you be doing? You would probably find a lot of things more important than eating (so you might even fast) You would be thinking of who in your family is not ready for the Lord’s return… You would put a lot less emphasis on physical things and think more of eternal things…..

Our Confession together in closing today…..

Father God, may I come to understand, that blessings are everywhere, if I will choose to look for them. May I know that my attitude will affect the outcomes which I expect and that challenges are often gifts that You have sent to me in disguise. May I trust that most things will get better and improve with time, because I will not be the person then, that I am right now. Because of the Holy Spirit, who dwells in me, I can trust that my instincts & gut feelings have value, and are an extension of Your stirrings within me. Your word gives me assurance that a positive attitude based on Your character of mercy, grace and love, will always cause everything to go smoother because You are working things out for my good and Your glory, every moment in my life.                                                                                                                                                                                    May I come to See that you have placed me in Your body with skills & talents that You can use, to be a positive influence on many people. May I come to value each moment of every day because each is a blessing to be enjoyed and treasured. Lord, may I value each person as unique & important to You. Thank you that each moment of my life has meaning and purpose, far beyond what I can see and understand at any given time. May my spirit be open and accepting, of those things which I might not otherwise understand or accept.                                                                                                                                       Renew my spirit with each opportunity and the challenges that expand my skills and awareness and open up areas and abilities in me as I move through each new experience. I seek to walk in Your blessing and favor as I move into the future You have chosen for me. Allow me see and grasp the possibilities which arise each day. I greet whatever awaits with vibrant faith and inner joy. I realize that at times I must forsake the comfortable and familiar, in my quest for the best, for you have made my life, an adventure of discovery and you have gone before me to prepare all my tomorrows with the blessing of new places, new things, new friends, new opportunities, and new challenges".  Thank You in Jesus name,

We said last week that every parent is tasked with the challenge of passing on to the next generation, a world that is better than they received it. That task began with Adam and Eve and continues to be the mantle which rests on every generation. There is much being said now about protecting the environment, saving the animals from extinction, the greenhouse effect, and reducing pollution…. But there is so much less importance placed on Spiritual values, and Godly principles. We now face a generation where less than 6% of the population attends church at all and less and less of the population claim to be Christian in the Biblical sense. There has been a breakdown in the home that is reflected throughout our society and culture.

In the bible, we read much about the Father’s blessing… The dad would lay his hands on his children’s head and pronounce a blessing over and upon them….. He would speak blessing over their future wife and their children. He would bless their finances and their career. He would bless their standing in the community and their influence and reputation… Dad would impart wisdom to them from his own experiences, from God’s word and instill kingdom values in them. I encourage our husbands and wives to do this, not when the kids are not around, but so they can hear you do it and they can feel the blessing you impart over them and their lives. Let me tell you, they will believe it if they hear you speak it enough…. God will honor it and He will back it up!  (some form of the word “Father” and that important place in the home, appears in the bible 1708 times….

God began this birthright blessing by speaking a blessing over Adam and Eve…..He spoke a blessing over Noah, then over Abraham and also over Isaac… but It was Isaac who was the first reference of a patriarch speaking the father’s blessing over his children…. It’s as though when it came to Isaac, God the Father, decided to impart the blessing through an earthly father. We should begin imparting the blessing…..
When Jesus called Zacchaeus down from the tree and said “Today I’m coming to your house”… it was not the performance which Zacchaeus observed as part of the crowd that day, that changed him, but it was the Lord’s presence that transformed his life….(Jesus said “I’m coming to your house”) Just the performance of the birthright will never do what the blessing of His presence can do….Intimacy with God is a vital part of our birthright blessing….                                                                                                           When David’s men were out, killing off Saul’s descendants and David found out about it, he stopped them and commanded that they bring Jonathan’s son Mephibosheth, who was lame in his feet and could not walk, to the palace, where he would live the remainder of his life. He was to eat at the king’s table as well. David kept his promise to Jonathan and blessed Mephibosheth with intimacy with the king. He would be in the King’s presence every day. How overwhelming this must have been for Mephibosheth, that the blessing of his father Jonathan was being imparted through David. It was a great privilege to live in the king’s house and in the king’s presence. David included this in the 23rd Psalm, as our relationship with the King…..

Psalm 23:5 “You prepare a table before me in the presence of mine enemies. You anoint my head with oil, my cup runs over. v6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD             forever”.  The real blessing is about having God’s presence with us in our daily life….in all our dealings and situations… Making all the difference… because in all of our dealings and circumstances… to know He is with us! I’m thinking of the words of Moses, when He said to God, “I will not go unless Your presence goes with me”….

What is it that would be our bowl of Esau stew, that would cause us to make the trade-off … for our amazing birthright? What would Satan be able to use to cause us to give up all that God has for us? Actually, it’s anything that we choose, that leaves Jesus out of the equation. That’s the point in which it has become a trade-off we are making and scripture calls it idol worship, because it takes the place of Christ in our lives….                                                                                                                              Is it success, popularity, money, our friends, our job, our reputation, or it might be just fitting in or grabbing the gusto while you can….

I used to sit in church as a teen and say to God… “Not now God. Right now I’m having my fun, and I won’t be young forever. When I’m old, then I will serve you, then I will live for you and really make a commitment to you”….Thank God I recognized that this was all my bowl of Esau stew, and I didn’t fall for the lie! I had to decide not to settle for soup when God says I could have steak!

From the dawn of time, Satan has tried to illegally insert himself into the birth right program. He said “I will ascend to the throne of the most high”, but he was cast out of heaven, and failed. He inserted himself into the Garden of Eden and got the first man and woman kicked out of their inheritance. He tried to kill Jesus as a baby to block our inheritance, and then again he attempted the same through the cross, but he found out that it’s not that easy to kill God! And now he continues to insert himself as an illegitimate heir as he tries to steal our birthright still today! He knows that we are the rightful heirs of the Father’s authority in the earth, and that we have received a double portion of His Spirit… For ourselves and the release of others as well….

A Parabola is the path of that which moves between two dimensions….Jesus said that we were “in the world but not of the world”… We need to be able to know how to live in the spiritual realm in a way that redeems the natural realm. There are things of this world’s culture, that will not fit in God’s kingdom culture, if we are to live in such a way as to bring His kingdom into the realms of this world. We must not be content to only celebrate how the spiritual realm effects ourselves… but to live in a such a way that we bring His Kingdom culture into our homes, our neighborhood and our city.

Ephesians 1:19 “I pray that you'll begin to understand the incredible greatness of his power for us who believe. This is the same mighty power which he brought about in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things in subjection under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church".

“Dispossess” is a word which is used in God’s command to the Israelites when they were about to enter the promised land.  It literally means to bring the rulership and government, the values and culture of another place into the place you have come. To replace the way of life that is there, with the life and culture of God’s kingdom. Jesus told us to believe, expect and make it our mission to bring His kingdom into the earth as it is in heaven…. We call it the Lord’s prayer, but it’s actually the disciple’s prayer because he told us it was what we were to pray for and believe for….

Notice that this authority which comes through out birthright is Far above all rule and authority, power and dominion and every name that is named!!! You can have power without authority, but you can’t have authority without power! We have been given a name above every name that is named in heaven and in earth… Be a name dropper! When we operate in the authority which Jesus has given unto us, when we speak his word and send forth the powerful truth that is imbedded in it… it’s as though Jesus Himself is speaking since as the firstborn, we have been put in charge of His legacy.

God will even use the Devil’s own plans to bless His kids…

I heard that a young sixteen year-old boy had been praying and confessing that he could get a new SUV. Soon, he came home with a new Chevrolet Avalanche and his parents began to yell and scream, "Where did you get that SUV02?!" He calmly told them, "I bought it today…." "How would you get that kind of money?" demanded his parents. "Well," said the boy, "I bought it for just fifteen dollars." "Who would sell a new SUV like that for fifteen dollars?" they said. "It was the lady up the street," said the boy. I don"t know her name - they just moved in. She saw me ride past on my bike and asked me if I wanted to buy a Chevrolet Avalanche for fifteen dollars." So the boy’s father walked up the street to the house where the lady lived and found her out in the yard calmly planting petunias! He introduced himself as the father of the boy to whom she had sold a new Chevrolet Avalanche for fifteen dollars and asked why in the world she did it.

"Well," she said, "this morning I got a phone call from my husband. "I thought he was on a business trip, but learned from a friend that he had run off to Hawaii with his mistress and had some problems getting back. He claimed he was stranded and needed cash, and asked me to sell his new Chevrolet Avalanche and send him the money”. So that’s what I did." God will use the devil’s own plans to get you the blessing! That’s why Romans 8:28 Tells us “All things work together for good to them who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose”.

Today, I want us together to speak the blessing over our families… Would you join me….

Father God, I come to You today to intercede on behalf of my family, and I declare that they shall serve You all of their healthy, prosperous, and victorious life, for it is You Who works in them both to will and do Your Good pleasure!  I thank You for saving, healing, protecting, loving, forgiving, and delivering them. I thank You for the Holy Spirit, Whodaily guides them and imparts wisdom to them, revealing the importance of following You every day of their life, and enjoying a fulfilling and productive personal relationship with You. I decree that they shall be bold wand courageous witnesses for you, in all areas of their lives. I pray that they would understand what you would have them do, and do it, that they would know who you have destined them to be and become, because they are led by the Inner Witness of Holy Spirit.

I pray that you would have them at the right place at the right time, and that they would not be deceived by other voices. Thank You, Father, for giving them the right friends, and the right relationships. I decree that they shall grow and develop spiritually and love and cherish You, with all their heart, and with all their soul, and with all their mind. I thank You that they are redeemed from all sickness, disease, poverty and lack, and they are delivered from every work and snare, device or trap of Satan.  I bind Satan away from my family, you can’t have them. I break your power and influence over their life, in Jesus’ Name! I have authority over you, for it is written in Matthew 18:18:  Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Satan, you can’t put anything on my family, you can’t hurt or harm them in any way. I decree that their circumstances, their body, their mind and their thoughts are off limits to you, in Jesus’ Name! Lord , thank You for protecting this family, and for the angels of the Lord being encamped around them. I thank You for the hedge of protection around them.  Lord You have promised that “He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. My family will say of the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress: my God; in You will I trust”.  Lord, Your truth shall be their shield and buckler. They shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day; nor for the pestilence that works in darkness; nor for the destruction at noonday. A thousand may fall at their side, and ten thousand at their right hand; but it shall not come nigh my family. Because they have made the LORD, even the most High, their habitation. You shall bear them up in your hands and You will deliver them and promote and prosper them. With long life your will satisfy them, and shew them Your salvation.  In Jesus mighty name!!

The word “birthright” literally means “the rights of the first born” In the Jewish culture, when the father died, the first-born was then considered to be the priest of the family and he received a double portion of the father's possessions. The first-born also inherited the judicial authority of his father and was in charge of the family legacy.

Hank had been married to a much younger woman. They had no intimacy and their marriage was little more than an arrangement. She practically ignored him, no matter how he tried to win her over. So eventually he confronted her with what he perceived as the problem. “Come on Missy, you might as well admit it,” he rantedand raged, “You know that you only married me because my granddad left me $6 million dollars, just admit it, didn't you?” Well Missy thought about it, and was silent, just to keep him in suspense….. Then she said, “ Hank, You really are a silly, man….. It’s not important to me WHO left those millions to you.” (I guess she set him straight) When you’re blessed, there’ll always be those who want what is yours… and they’ll try to get it no matter what it takes….Tell someone “Don’t worry about it”!!! Go ahead and be blessed!

Paul gives us some powerful insight concerning our birthright in Hebrews 12:22 “But you have come unto mount Zion, (the Government of God) and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, v23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, v24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks of better things…” (is anyone ready for something better?)

Paul by revelation is addressing all those who have received the sacrifice of Christ for their sins, who have become children of God by believing on Jesus as savior, and who have identified with His church in the earth. And again, notice that He refers to it as the church of the firstborn….

God doesn’t have any second class children, all who are in Christ are “FIRST BORN”!!! In Christ, there are no grand kids, no nephews or nieces, and no cousins…. Just FIRST BORN…. With full access to the birth right!

Ephesians 2:6 tells us…He has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus v7 That through-out the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace and kindness toward us through Christ Jesus”. …..The riches of His grace, means we don’t earn it or even deserve it… A first bornson, in the bible didn’t have to do anything but be born, to be heir to the birthright! When we are born again… we immediately receive the birthright of the firstborn!

A young man asked an old man who was extremely wealthy how he made his money. The old guy fingered his gold watch, turned his diamond ring in his fingers, and counted the wad of money in his pocket and said "Well, young man, it was 1932, in the depth of the Great Depression. I was down to my last nickel. "I invested that nickel in an apple. I spent the entire day polishing the apple and, at the end of the day, I sold the apple for ten cents and doubled my money. "The next morning, I was able to buy three apples with that money. I spent the entire day polishing them and sold them for 30cents. I continued this system for a month, and by the end, I had accumulated the grand total of $6.00." "So that's how you built your empire?" the boy asked. "Oh, Heavens, no!" the man replied. "Then my wife's father died and left us millions of dollars." Being Firstborn changes the game and gives God’s kids the advantage….

Look at it again…..The birthright of a firstborn son in Israel consisted of the following major three blessings…

1…He had a double portion of the inheritance from his parents…

2…. He became the person of authority in the family…

3….He became the spiritual Priest of the family. Look at an example with me of the importance of the first born’s place…

1Samuel 20:27 It came to pass for the second day, that David's place was empty and king Saul said unto Jonathan his son, why is it that David the son of Jesse has not come to the table to eat both yesterday, or to day? v28 And Jonathan answered Saul, David earnestly asked leave of me, that he might go to Bethlehem. v29 And he pleaded, “Let me go, I pray, for our family is making sacrifice in the city (for it was Passover) and my brother, has commanded me to be there, and now, if I have found favor in your eyes, let me go, I pray, and see my brethren. For this reason he has not come unto the king's table”.

David’s older brother was the first born, and because he was now the one in authority, he was in charge of Passover sacrifice for the family as the priest of the home, David felt more compelled to respond to that, than he did to the king’s orders for him to be at his table….It was that important….                                                                                                                                                         We are the first born children of God, and we are in charge of the spiritual welfare and condition of our home! God counts a home where He is put first, as far greater than fame, position or wealth…..

One of the words that is used in scripture for “ To inherit” is “kler-on-omeo” and it means (to obtain an inheritance by allotment). We are given a great example of this word…                                                                                                                                        Numbers 26:53 “Unto these the Promise land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of families. v54 To the larger families you shall give the greater inheritance, and to the smaller families you shall give the smaller inheritance. To every one his inheritance shall be given according to those that were numbered of him. v55 For the land shall be divided by allotment, according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit it.”

Before they ever got to the land of Promise, God already knew their inheritance in the land. The entire land was divided up for an inheritance among the heads of families. God has plenty to go around! There’s enough for everyone… No one gets left out! Here’s where I want to blow your mind. The Florida Keys (or any place you have come to) is The Lord’s! He has allotted it to His first born! If you live here, then this is your promised land. Regardless of who lived in the land before they arrived in Canaan, God gave it to His people. Have you claimed your portion… Listen to this…

Daniel 4:17 “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, (a decree is a higher law) and the demand of the word of the holy ones, to the intent that the living may know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whosoever He wills”…. If the place, the city, the county or region you’re at is the Lord’s, then He can give it to whoever He wants, and that would be to the fellowship of the first born! Remember the first born gets a double portion! We should expect Christian Mayors, Christian commissioners, Christian teachers in our schools, Christian business owners, Christian fishermen, Christian policemen, firemen, and transportation officials, etc, etc! Satan wants to push Christian’s out, but God says “My kids, come first”…

Now this is exciting….(at least I think so) because that allotmentGod talks about, is also described in…                                                                            Mark 10:29 “And Jesus answered them and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that has left houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, v30  But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions, and in the world to come eternal life”.

With all of this said, there are many who have forfeited their birthright or simply failed to claim what was theirs….

Genesis 25:29 “Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. v30 And Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of your stew, for I am hungry and exhausted!” v31 And Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright then.” v32 Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” v33 Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and he sold his birthright to Jacob. v34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. In doing this Esau despised his birthright”.                                                                                                                                                                                                               Folks may say that they are “starving to death”, but usually they’re not there quite yet! Esau was hungry and exhausted and during this time of physical weakness, Esau trades something very valuable, He is willing to trade his birthright, for something temporary and of very little lasting value, a bowl of stew. So, the scene ends with this declaration: “Thus Esau despised his birthright.” Esau’s willingness to sell his birthright was evidence that he considered his birthright unimportant. He treated his birthright as nearly worthless.Whatwould make a person throw away something so valuable in the future for something so cheap and so fleeting in the present? The answer is that Esau is so consumed getting instant gratification that he has no concept of waiting or of sacrificing to have something better. He had to satisfy his desires today and he hasn’t learned enough discipline or will power to strive for something better. Therefore he forfeits the riches of the inheritance to come, and settles for a mere bowl of stew to satisfy his immediate hunger. It’s a foretaste of his entire life….do it now.. pick up the pieces later….

A baby circus elephant, will have a rope placed around it’s foot, almost from the day it is able to walk. It will strain and strain against its bonds but after a while it knows that it is impossible to break free, so it eventually gives up. When the elephant is older, all that is needed to keep it from running away is a small rope. The full-grown adult elephant is very capable of easily breaking its bonds, but because it has been conditioned for so long in its mind, that this is just the way it is, it now accepts it’s restraints without even trying anymore! Settling for less is just the way things are, it figures…..                                   With just a slight flex of its muscles the full grown elephant could easily pluck up the stake and break the rope that has it bound, but it has been preprogrammed to accept the limitations placed upon it. God has given all of us a birthright but like that elephant we can get so programed to accept less….

But as we come to understood our birthright, we can no longer accept the limitations that have kept us in bondage! Too often, we are held by the weak rope of Satan’s lie. But the time has come to flex our spiritual muscles like a modern day Samson who finally came to his senses…His eyes were plucked out, his hair was cut off and he became the enemy’s mule… But he felt his hair growing and his strength was the birthright of power…While they were mocking and making sport, He shook himself and a double portion came into him and he shook free from the things that bound him… Hereached a point where he would settle no more! (tell someone…. “settle no more”)

Paul wrote to the church and us as well….Ephesians 1:18 “I pray also that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints.”

We don’t have to be someone else that we’re not… Or be comparing ourselves with someone else…. If we’re to believe the bible, this glorious inheritance is ours simply because we were born into the family of God (or born again)… take a fresh look at it with me, and get excited…. I’ll say it again…. this is not about what we do but what HE HAS DONE, in order to qualify us…. In the natural realm the child only has to be born…to receive the birthright. It’s the firstborn’s right by birth. The moment you accepted Christ and made Him lord of your life, it was and is yours!

Colossians 1:12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. V13 Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. v14 In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

John 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name”

You need to know that God is safe keeping your inheritance for you, where thieves cannot enter and steal, and where the things of this world cannot affect it….The word of God is His will and testament Jesus died, rose and ascend to inforce it!

1 Peter 1:3 ‘Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade, kept in heaven for you”… (it’s already deposited in your account)                                                                                  Perhaps you’ve messed up, or like Esau, you have failed to appreciate what you have, and have failed to claim it…. The great news is, you haven’t lost it, God is holding it for you, till the day you decide to take it and make it your reality!

That is very different from the guy I read about who was about to inherit millions of dollars and a huge estate. His dad was about to pass away any time, so Clyde decided he needed a woman to enjoy it with. Going to a cafe, he met a woman there whose beauty just took his breath away. He went up to her and said, “I think you are gorgeous. I'm only an ordinary man, but in just a week or two, my father who is very ill will die, and I'll inherit a 20 million dollarbusiness plus an expansive estate." The woman went home with Clyde, and the next week she announced that she had become his stepmother. Fortunately, your heavenly father is safeguarding your inheritance better than a step-mom!!!

2 Timothy 1:12 “I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day”.

I read that there is over 58 billion dollars in unclaimed inheritance that is being held by each state, waiting for those who are the heirs, to claim it. They have a web site which you can check at www.Unclaimed.org, it’s the website of the (NAUPA) or theNational Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators. This free website contains information about unclaimed property held by each state. Folks are encouraged to check every state where they have relatives who have lived there. The money is not lost, it is waiting for someone to claim it…. It’s already theirs, they just haven’t claimed it!

It's the same way with God, He’s holding the inheritance that you never claimed. So what are you waiting for, child of God!

When Esau realized what he had done he ran to Isaac his father and here’s what he said….

Genesis 27:38 “Is there not a blessing for me, my father? Bless me too, my father!” Then Esau wept loudly”.                                     The good news is, that even though Esau messed up, he still got ablessing…. He became a very powerful man in the land… with extensive lands and a legacy that he could passed down…..even though he misused it….God knew that in the future, the blessing would cause one family to be opposed to the other…. This also shows us that we will be held accountable for what we do with the blessing….But this account concerning Esau shows us that God is very serious about our inheritance and our birthright…..

In Christ, You have received a double portion of the inheritance, represented in this life and the life to come…                                                     You have became a person of authority with it’s source in the Spiritual realm which supersedes natural authority….

You have became part of the spiritual Priesthood, in the fellowship of the Firstborn….
